January 1, 2011 : New Years Goal- BRING THIS BABY HOME!

First, let me introduce you to "Kyle". Kyle is in an orphanage in China. This is his photo and description from the orphanage:

Photobucket

ChildID/Name, Birthdate: Kyle, 12/28/1007
Location, Gender: Asia, Male Agency: Wasatch Adoptions
Details: "This sweet little boy has Hemophilia (A Grade). His caretakers say "He is so lovely, likes to play with other kids, he likes to put on new clothes, likes to play with aunt, and its interested in the toy car which he can move. He is handsome, extroverted, and active. We all like him and hope there is someone familiar with this disease who could love and care for Kyle so he can lead a full life with his very own forever family."

As of April I know:
- That he was abandoned at 8 months old in a hospital in Shanghai with a brain bleed due to a fall from a bed, and intramuscular bleed due to IM injection, as well as respiratory infection and anemia.
- That he has had many bleeds so far including GI bleeds and shoulder bleeds.
-That every report I have read so far from the hospital shows him as malnourished and with respiratory infections.
- That he does not sing because "in the instution they do not sing or play music"
- That he likes to play with the other kids, and his aunties and caretakers, and seems behind in some areas only because he cannot attend preschool because of his Hemophilia.
-That he is not allowed to go outside to play because of his Hemophilia.
- MOST OF ALL I KNOW THAT I LOVE HIM AND NEED TO GET HIM HOME AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!

How it all started

After having my son, Max, on June 22, 2009 we definitely knew that we wanted to have another child.   I knew we could offer so much to a child in need, especially a child that has hemophilia.  I know how well these children do now with the proper treatment and I know all too well how they will live without proper treatment.  A lot of suffering and pain and permanent damage could be done.  I contacted Laurie Kelley at http://www.kelleycom.com  to see if she knew of any children with hemophilia in need of a family.  She knew of a 2 1/2 year old in China that was not through the system and available yet, but would be.  I knew immediately I wanted to do this.  I contacted several agencies and was told that there was not way it could be done since we were not married for 2 years.   I kept getting emails from an rainbowkids.com with waiting children.  I still knew that someday I wanted to adopt, and I wanted to adopt a child with this disease.  I felt that so strongly.  I saw him on rainbowkids.com in August 2010.   I KNEW it was him and I saw that little face and it just melted me and I felt so so sad and scared for him.  I emailed the agency that had him, and they again told me no.  Then, he disappeared off the site.  I thought he was adopted but I still felt really distraught at not knowing.  It haunted me.

Kirk and I went on with trying to have our own child.  I still kept worrying about this little boy.   I still knew in the future I would adopt, wether I had another biological child or not.
Then, on December 6th 2010 I saw him listed again.  My heart dropped and I was upset and worried about him all over again.  He was listed with another agency so I sent another email expecting the same response.    I also sent his information to Laurie Kelley to see if she knew of him, if she could get factor to him and to see if she could get the word out in the Hemophilia Community to try to find him a family.

I received an email back from the agency that had him listed, Wasatch.  She (Kathy) actually LISTENED to my story.  She listened to my experience with Hemophilia and my situation.  They said that if we were truely serious they would go to the CCAA to see if an exception could be made on the length of marriage because of the fact that we had a child with this same disease.  I filled out everything she needed, gave her all of the information she needed and then we waited.

WE WERE PREAPPROVED!!!!!!!  I received that email the week of December 20th- the best Christmas blessing I could ever ask for!   It seems like this is really meant to be!

  1. That appears to be clearly amazing. Most teeny specifics are using great deal of reputation encounter. So i am attached to the idea a good deal. Oral Care
